The Lady Leafs gets outfoxed at Yorkville

The Lady Leafs’ offense went cold on the road against the Lady Foxes in Yorkville on Dec. 15.

Yorkville topped cross conference rival Geneseo 51-32 behind the play 2016 All-State Honorable Mention Katie Nolan.

A senior forward, Nolan scored 16 points for the Foxes (9-1, 3-0 NIB 12 East).

Yorkville’s Lindsay Harrison was just as dangerous scoring 11 points in the first half as the Foxes ran out to a 29-17 lead.

Geneseo (8-2, 2-1 NIB 12 West) had a balanced scoring effort with 10 players adding the scoreboard.

Paige VandeWiele led the Leafs with 6 points off the bench.

Geneseo’s Sydney Himmelman and Lynsey Gradert each finished with five points.

Lindsey Francque tallied four points, and Heather Dietrich made 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

The Lady Leafs’ Jane Thomas and Renee Rumler each scored three points.

Geneseo’s Anna McAvoy, Allison Yager, Morgan May each finished with two points.

Geneseo’s next game will be at the State Farm Holiday Classic beginning against Wheaton Warrenville South at Bloomington Central Catholic Gym on Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
