The Geneseo boys’ bowling team defeated LaSalle-Peru and competed against Mendota.

The Maple Leafs took down NIB 12 Conference rival Cavaliers 3316-3248 at Lee’s Lanes on Dec. 1.

Geneseo’s Kyle Cones had the dual’s high game with a 257.

Cones finished with a 585 series, and Kyler Rusk rolled the Leafs’ high series with a 597.

Geneseo’s Alex Williams bowled his way to a 582 series, and Trent Schulz finished with a 582 series.

The Leafs’ Braeden Keller finished with a 538 series to round out the varsity scores.

Geneseo’s JV bowlers put together some solid games.

Jacob Verplaetse rolled games of 161 and 155 to lead the JV effort.

The Leafs’ Braden Ries tallied games of 140 and 112, and Ross Chapman finished with games of 118 and 105.

Geneseo at Mendota

The Maple Leafs were unable to topple Mendota at the Elks Lodge Bowling Center on Dec. 5.

Mendota won the dual 3125-3047, with five bowlers having series over 500.

Geneseo’s Keller stepped up with a 613 series finishing with a final game of 229.

Williams continued to be steady with a 564 series, and Rusk finished with a 552 series.

Cones tallied a 488 series, and Schulz finished with a 442.

Geneseo’s Ries fell just short of a 400 series with a 398.

The Maple Leafs’ next match will be at the Cavalier Bowling Classic held at the Illinois Valley Super Bowl in Peru starting at 9 a.m.
