Brown medals at Detweiller

The Lady Leafs’ Josie Brown won the Silver Streak Invite, and Geneseo competed at the First to the Finish Invite.

Silver Streak Invite

Brown earned a medal in 19:53.0, and Geneseo finished runner-up for the team title at Lake Storey Park on Sept. 4.

The Lady Leafs’ Lauren Belvel came in fourth in 21:26.8, and Julia Poel finished 13th in 22:27.0.

Geneseo’s Anna Girten ran down 14th place in 22:47.1, and Anna Snyder finished 17th in 23:07.9.

The Lady Leafs’ Adia Raya came in 19th place in 23:39.4, and Avery Magerkurth finished 22nd in 24:04.7.

First to the Finish Invite

Despite a muddy track, Geneseo finished two places higher than last season against some of the best teams in the state at Detweiler Park on Sept. 8.

It was benchmark run for Brown who had her best finish at Detweiler in her career.

Brown earned medalist honors with a 14th place finish in 18:33.3, and the Lady Leafs finished 12th in the team standings.

A senior, Brown has medaled at the First to the Finish three times with a 22nd place finish as a freshman and a 24th place finish last season.

It was a special run during her senior year for Poel who ran down 62nd place in 19:56.5.

The Lady Leafs’ Belvel came in 100th place finishing in 20:27.2, and Girten wasn’t far back in 116 in 20:37.7.

Geneseo’s Pierce ran down 143rd place in 21:04.0, and Snyder finished in 147th place in 21:10.3.

The Lady Leafs’ Magerkurth came in 159th place in 21:24.2.

The Maple Leafs’ next competition will be as hosts of the Geneseo Invitational at Richmond Hill on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 9 a.m.
