Maple Leafs nab frosh/soph title at Rock River Run

The Geneseo boys’ cross country varsity team finished 11th, but the Geneseo frosh/soph team loaded up to earn the title.

Geneseo’s Neo Colter led the Maple Leafs’ varsity team with a time of 17:06.6 during the Rock River Run at Woodlawn Park in Sterling on Sept. 22.

Andrew Rizzo came in 67th with a time of 17:43.6, and Spencer Lindstrom was just a few spots back in 70th with a time of 17:47.0.

Colby Rapps ran down 77th in 17:52.7, and Peter Rizzo finished 98th in 18:25.7.

Nathan Carroll nabbed 124th in 19:15.7, and Will Sammons finished in 131st in 19:33.5.

In the frosh/soph race, Geneseo had three runners place in the top 10.

The Maple Leafs’ Justin Johnson led the way with a fourth-place finish in 17:03.7.

William Plumley ran down sixth in 17:17.1, and Rafe Morrison finished 10th in 17:32.5.

Geneseo’s Malakai Schaad came in 12th place in 17:35.4, and Lucas Nicke finished 21st in 17:48.8.

The Leafs’ Isaac Kuster managed a 34th place finish in 18:08.0, and Bode Neff finished 61st in 19:34.9.
