Here are the Peoria-area cross country runners heading to the 2022 IHSA state finals
High school cross country sectionals were this past Saturday with the Illinois High School Association state meet is scheduled for Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
The top Class 1A six teams and top 10 individuals not on an advancing team qualify for state. For Class 2A and 3A, the top seven finishing teams as well as the top 10 individuals not on an advancing team head to state.
Here is how the Peoria-area runners fared this season:

Sectional champions: Boys — Normal U-High. Girls — Pleasant Plains
Area advancing schools: Boys — Eureka, El Paso-Gridley, Elmwood/Brimfield. Girls — Eureka, Elmwood/Brimfield, Olympia, El Paso-Gridley.
Individual winners: Boys — Charlie Bardwell (Eureka) 15:33.25. Girls — Louisa Wilson (Williamsville) 17:59.32.
Area advancing individuals: Boys — Sam Springer (Delavan); Brecken Fahrenkrug (Illinois Valley Central); Colin Delagrange (Lowpoint-Washburn/Roanoke-Benson); Joey Bosch (Princeville); Tucker Sennett (Princeville); Ryan Kuhn (Deer Creek-Mackinaw). Girls — Annabelle LaFary (Delavan); Meg Simmons (South Fulton); Emily King (Knoxville); Cassidy Earleywine (IVC); Elly Heineke (L-W/R-B).
Elijah House of Bureau Valley advanced to state in the boys race at the Oregon Sectional, while both Kennady Anderson from Annawan/Wethersfield and Princeton's Lexi Bohms are both state-bound also out of Oregon.
