Maple Leafs finish third at Rock Falls

The Maple Leafs boys’ golf team finished third in the Class AA field at the Rock Falls Invite on Sept. 2.

Geneseo’s 325 team score tied them with Alleman for second place, but the Pioneers edged the Leafs for runner-up honors with a lower sixth man score.

Mick Haverland led the Maple Leafs with a 77 at Rock River Country Club, and Seth Winchell was a stroke back with a 78.

Geneseo’s Patrick Turpin fired an 83, and Ty Johnson finished with an 87.

The Leafs’ Danny Ford carded an 89, and Will Pace finished with a 90.

Geneseo’s next rounds will be at the Pekin Invite at Lick Creek Golf Course, on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m.
