Maple Leafs nabs pair of wins on the course

The Maple Leafs’ golf team defeated Rochelle on Senior Night and picked up a road win against Moline.

Rochelle at Geneseo

Geneseo earned a 167-183 victory over the Hubs on Senior Night at Sugar Maple Golf Club on Sept. 5.

GHS’ Jarron Nordstrom earned medalist honors with a 39, and Will Pace was a few strokes back with a 41.

The Leafs’ Patrick Turpin fired a 43, and Mick Haverland finished with a 44.

Devin VanRycke and Seth Winchell each carded a 45.

Jack Roberts tallied a 47, and Ben Ford finished with a 51.

The Geneseo JV team earned a big win topping Rochelle, 184-241.

Danny Ford had the low round with a 41, and Kyle Pittenger shot a 46.

Ty Johnson carded a 48, and Shane Lievens finished with a 49.

The Leafs’ Ian Phillips fired a 53, and Nathan Curran finished with a 56.

Geneseo at Moline

The Maple Leafs knocked off the Maroons 167-172, and Haverland earned medalist honors with a 38.

Danny Ford, Pace and Nordstrom each finished with a 43.

Geneseo’s Winchell was a stroke back with a 44, and Turpin finished with a 46.

The Geneseo JV team lost a narrow victory 185-186 against the Maroons.

VanRycke and Ty Johnson each shot a 44, and Kaden Rink and Derek Johnson each fired a 49.

Zach Henderson tallied a 52, and Roberts finished with a 53.
