Geneseo rolls up conference teams

The Geneseo girls’ soccer team stayed unbeaten against Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference rivals.

The Lady Leafs had seven different players score during the 8-0 blowout at the Geneseo Soccer Pitch on April 14.

Geneseo built an 6-0 lead by halftime against the Hubs.

Paige Gramling scored a pair of goals for Geneseo, and the Leafs’ defense held Rochelle without a shot on net.

Geneseo’s Tarah Fisher scored a goal and added an assist, and Caitlin Akers finished with a goal and an assist.

The Leafs’ Lauren Coulter scored the opening goal of the match and added an assist later in the game.

Lauren Murray, Megan Coulter and Heather Dietrich each scored a goal for Geneseo.

Geneseo at Ottawa

The Leafs continued to dominate in NIB 12 conference play topping Ottawa 8-0 on April 18.

Geneseo scored four goals in each half and held the Pirates to just three shots in the game.

Lauren Coulter scored a hat trick in the first half to lead the Leafs’ scoring charge.

Geneseo’s Jenna Decker and Dietrich each scored two goals, and Gramling finished with a goal and added an assist.

Taylor Magerkurth logged the shutout in net for the Leafs (8-2-1).

The Lady Leafs’ next game will be at Yorkville on Tuesday, April 26 starting at 4:30 p.m.
