Geneseo at DeKalb

The Barbs scored a first-half goal with a little more than seven minutes until half to take a 1-0 lead.

DeKalb scored another goal just minutes into the second half and held on for a 2-1 victory over Geneseo on April 19.

Geneseo’s Kennady Thies scored with an assist from Melanie Parker to close the gap a few moments later, but DeKalb hung on for the win.

Sycamore at Geneseo

The undefeated Spartans scored three second-half goals to defeat Geneseo 4-0 at the Geneseo Soccer Pitch on April 24.

With Sycamore leading 1-0 at halftime, Geneseo’s Lauren Pardoe made a pair of nice saves to start the second half to keep the game close.

A sophomore, Pardoe made a diving stop near the post to deflect the ball over the end line.

On the ensuing corner kick, Pardoe picked the ball out of the air before Sycamore could redirect and get a shot on net.

In the 61st minute, Heather Dietrich had a chance to tie the game on a goal kick.

However, a great save by the Spartans keeper kept Sycamore in front.
