Lady Leafs win home opener on the court

The Geneseo tennis team earned victories over LaSalle-Peru and Princeton.

LaSalle-Peru at Geneseo

The Lady Leafs earned a 4-1 victory in their home opener at the Richmond Hill Tenis Courts, on Sept. 7.

Bryann Brophy cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, and Emma Dunker nabbed a three set win at No. 2 singles 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

The Leafs’ Jane Thomas and Madi Miller earned a three set victory at No. 1

doubles 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, and Ava Bieneman and Kaitlyn Webster rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. Geneseo fell 3-2 in the JV matches against L-P.

The Leafs’ Alli Miller and Katerina Eilers earned a 6-2, 6-3 doubles win, and Ali Craig and Emma Slaymaker picked up a 6-3, 6-1 victory.

The Lady Leafs continued their winning ways with a 4-1 victory at the Princeton Prather Field Tennis Courts on Sept. 11.

Brophy won the top singles match 6-0, 6-1, and Madi Miller and Jane Thomas earned a win at No. 1 doubles 6-0, 6-1.

The Leafs’ Mary Thomas and Gracie Strohm won in a tiebreaker 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 doubles.

Bieneman and Webster cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
