Lady Leafs’ senior players seal victory on the tennis courts

The Lady Leafs’ tennis team scored a 4-1 victory over Dixon on Senior Night at the Richmond Hill Tennis Courts on Sept. 26.

Geneseo’s Bryann Brophy picked up a 6-3, 7-5 victory in the No. 1 singles match.

The Lady Leafs’ Madi Miller and Jane Thomas tallied a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, and Mary Thomas and Gracie Strohm nabbed a 6-1, 6-4 victory.

Geneseo seniors Rebecca Clementz and Stella Corgan tacked on a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

In senior night JV matches, the Leafs’ Maddie Fitzpatrick and Grace Verbeck notched an 8-4 win.

Geneseo’s Hailey Craig and Evy Strohm teamed up for an 8-4 win, while Grace Miller and Alora DeFauw added an 8-1 win.

The Lady Leafs’ Tess Skiles and Morgan Bailey fell short of picking up a win falling 8-1.

The Leafs’ next matches will be at the Rock Island Gold Invite on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m.

The Lady Leafs’ frosh/soph players will compete for the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference title on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 a.m.
