Lady Leafs hit a rough patch

The Geneseo girls’ tennis team suffered defeats against Rochelle, Alleman and LaSalle-Peru.

Geneseo at Alleman

The Lady Leafs fell in a 6-3 struggle against Alleman at Riverside Park in Moline on Sept. 17.

Geneseo’s No. 2 doubles team of Alli Miller and Ava Bieneman earned a 7-5, 7-5 victory, and Ali Craig and Kaitlyn Webster notched a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 3 doubles match.

The Lady Leafs’ Bieneman earned Geneseo’s lone

singles victory with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.

Geneseo at LaSalle-Peru

The Lady Leafs were toppled 4-1 L-P Sports Complex on Sept. 19.

Bieneman and Miller earned Geneseo’s only victory with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

Ottawa at Geneseo

The Lady Leafs’ varsity team was shutout by Ottawa in Geneseo on Sept. 24.

Geneseo’s frosh/soph team battled their way to a 3-2 victory against Ottawa.

The Lady Leafs swept the doubles matches to tip the odds in their favor.

Emma Claeys and Chloe Adams won the top doubles match 6-3, 7-5, and Emma Slaymaker and Henna Griffin fought back for a 5-7, 6-3, (10-7).

Geneseo’s Anne Turpin and Ali Rapps closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
