Maple Leafs race to the front

The Maple Leafs’ track team left a strong impression at the Geneseo Triangular at Bob Reade Field on March 28.

Geneseo’s Colton Pischke won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.28, and Luke Sebastian ran a season-best to finish second in 17.12.

A senior, Pischke dominated the 300 hurdles winning in 40.99, and Sebastian was runner-up in 43.21.

Jordan Seeley ran down top honors in the 100 in 11.65, and he finished fourth in the 200 in 24.44.

Geneseo’s Billy Blaser nabbed the title in the shot put with a throw of 45’9.25”, and Zach Wilson finished with the high jump title clearing 5’10”.

A sophomore, Nate Clark-Holke won the pole vault clearing 11’6”, and Kaden Rink captured the triple jump title with a distance of 39’6”.

Geneseo’s 4x100-relay team of Jordan Seeley, Mason Jones, Billy Cosgrave and Pischke came in second place in 45.97.

In the 4x400 relay, Geneseo finished runner up in 3:40.97 with the team of Pischke, Spencer Lindstrom, Hunter Clark-Holke and Rink sharing the baton.

Geneseo’s 4x800 relay team of Lindstrom, Neo Colter, Rafe Morrison and Rink finished second in 9:01.08.

In the 4x200 relay, Geneseo’s Dominic DeBoef, Jerry Green, Nathan Carroll and Jordan Seeley ran down third in 1:40.15.

The Leafs’ Eric Verplaetse finished runner-up in the pole vault clearing 11’, and Andrew Verplaetse cleared 10’6” to finish third.

Mason Jones was runner-up in the long jump with a distance of 19’6.5”, and Sebastian finished third with a distance of 17’8”.

In the triple jump, Carroll finished third with a distance of 37’8”.

Tucker Ziegenhorn finished in third place in the discus with a throw of 112’5”, and Lindstrom finished third in the 1600 with a time of 4:50.83.

Geneseo’s Juan Mejias-Dansbach raced to a third-place finish in the 400 in 1:06.21, and Zach Bauer came in third in the 800 in 2:22.62.
